"Enough time has passed that I can now express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the film, adding that he doesn't recollect "a single day without mirth".
"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes expressed.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I remember you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist
In a different piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.
Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted
Recently, a Los Angeles court official ruled to prevent the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.
